Keel-billed Toucan (Original)

$950.00
sold out

The national bird of Belize, the Keel-billed Toucan is a spectacular, colourful toucan found in tropical jungles from southern Mexico to Colombia. Its large bill can grow to be over a third of the length of the bird’s body, and though it may look heavy, it is incredibly light-weight.

My inspiration for this piece (and the others in this series) is the historical bird illustrators of the 19th Century, particularly Edward Lear, Audubon and Gould.

This original illustration was created with professional, lightfast coloured pencils and acrylic paint on archival pastelmat board.
Finished with an archival matte varnish for protection.

It is hand-signed and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Colours may vary slightly due to differences in monitor calibrations.

Note that it will be sent unframed (the room images here are examples only), but will be professionally mounted with a neutral white matboard.

Size – 55 x 44cm (image area), 71 x 60cm (including matboard).

Shipped flat-packed and insured.
When you receive your artwork, it should be professionally framed as soon as possible. I have used archival, lightfast materials, so your artwork should last a lifetime, but please do not display it in direct sunlight.
