The Palm Cockatoo, also known as the Goliath Cockatoo, is a majestic cockatoo native to the rainforests of New Guinea and northern Australia. Recognised for its large size and unique appearance, this species is characterised by its jet-black plumage, distinctive red cheek patches, and a large crest on its head. Known for its loud calls and impressive drumming displays using sticks and seed pods, the Palm Cockatoo is a highly intelligent and social bird.
